MONTANA GRIZZLY SCHOLARSHIP ASSOCIATION

Dear Griz Nation:

Griz Volleyball is coming off its most successful season in 20 years. Our student-athletes and coaching staff have built a player-lead program from our foundational values of Griz, Gratitude, and Family.

There has never been a better time to join Griz Volleyball in our pursuit of excellence on the court, in the classroom, and in the community! Your support is crucial to our success in that it allows us to train, travel, and study at a championship level. 

A gift from you will directly affect the student-athlete experience in every facet of their lives, particularly: nutrition, training, and academics. Griz Volleyball is asking for you to join us by giving, and by giving you can trust that your dollars will have an immediate impact.

Upon graduation, our athletes name the support they receive from Griz Nation as the main reason why they committed to UM and why they are so proud to graduate with a degree from the University of Montana. What is my gift used for?

Donations supporting the Volleyball program go directly into Coach Lawrence’s discretionary fund, which she can use for areas of greatest need. Areas include:

  • Scholarship/Summer School – allows our athletes to spread out the stress of their academic load during the year while being able to train in our facilities during a crucial time of year for us as a fall sport. Funding in the summer also allows athletes to attend classes, lift, condition, and play volleyball while having room and board paid for, rather than having to prioritize their schedule around a job.
  • Nutrition – the physical, emotional, and mental demands on athletes have never been higher. Proper nutrition, both at home and on the road, allows us to maximize the benefits of their training, and increase their capacity to excel in all areas of their lives.
  • Gear – part of training, traveling, and representing Griz Nation at the elite level means doing so in high-performance gear. What we wear impacts injuries, physical and mental stress, confidence, and pride.
