MONTANA GRIZZLY SCHOLARSHIP ASSOCIATION

Dear Griz Nation:

The UM Dance Team is calling on your support! We are excited to announce that our team will be competing at Nationals for the first time in program history spring of 2024 and we need your help getting there.

Currently, our team has 20 members, the largest team the school has ever had. We currently have the longest season of any student-athlete running from late July all the way until mid April. We love dancing at all home football, basketball, and volleyball games in addition to our 4 practices per week, mandatory weight lifting, student hours, and many hours of volunteer work we do.

Although our program is greatly supported by the athletic department, we rely heavily on being self-funded. We raise money to pay for our practice gear, traveling to Bozeman for Griz/Cat basketball, travel to Boise, ID to dance at the Big Sky Basketball Tournament, and now for competing and representing Montana at the National Level.

This is an extremely exciting time for the UM Dance Team and we need all the support we can get to keep pushing our program to be the best it can be. Thank you for your support!

What is my gift used for?

Every year the UM Dance team has costs that they are required to cover such as practice equipment, team uniforms, travel to away games, and now to compete at the national level. This year it will cost around $4,000 per dancer:

  • $250 – Practice & cold weather gear
  • $1,200 – Travel, hotel and food for Conference Tournament in Boise
  • $2,500 – Travel/fees for Nationals
