MONTANA GRIZZLY SCHOLARSHIP ASSOCIATION
On July 1, 2025, universities across the country began a new model of revenue sharing, which allows athletic departments to directly share a portion of their revenue with student-athletes. It is the most significant change in decades, and it will shape which programs rise and which ones fall.
With your support, the University of Montana is ready to move forward. Good Ol’ Grizzlies will now operate within the athletic department, uniting all efforts under one umbrella to ensure we remain competitive, recruit and retain top talent, and continue to build championship programs.

Every contribution to Good Ol’ Grizzlies, whether to the general fund or a sport-specific fund, directly impacts recruiting, retention, and the resources our student-athletes and programs need to excel.

What is Revenue Sharing?
Revenue sharing is the next major step in college athletics. Beginning in July 2025, universities may directly share a portion of athletic department revenue with student-athletes. This marks an important evolution in college sports, and Montana is committed to creating a sustainable, student-athlete-centered future.
This change will separate leading programs from the rest, and Montana is ready to move forward. Revenue sharing builds on what we already have and creates opportunities to achieve even more. With your support, Montana can remain at the forefront.
Where Are My Donations Going?
Your contributions to Good Ol’ Grizzlies, or the specific sport of your choice, will directly support Montana student-athletes and the building of championship-level programs. That mission remains unchanged, and your impact is as meaningful as ever.
Do I Need To Do Anything?
If you were a member of Good Ol’ Grizzlies before, you’ll need to re-enroll under the new model. We encourage every Griz fan to join or renew their membership. Your support directly benefits student-athletes, strengthens rosters, and helps Montana compete at the highest level.
What About Tax Deductions?
Donations will be made to Good Ol’ Grizzlies or the sport-specific fund through the University of Montana Foundation, deductible for federal income tax purposes to the extent allowable by law.

Can I Choose a Specific Sport to Support?
Yes!
Good Ol’ Grizzlies will serve as the general fund, with contributions distributed across sports to maximize the strength of our athletic department. In addition, each sport will have its own dedicated revenue-sharing fund. This allows donors to give directly to the programs they are most passionate about while still ensuring support for recruiting, retention, and roster development.
Will this change affect scholarships?
No. Scholarships will continue to be the foundation of our student-athlete experience. Revenue sharing adds an additional layer of support, but scholarship funding and opportunities remain just as important as ever.
What about NIL?
NIL opportunities are still available to all student-athletes, and we will continue helping them find third-party NIL deals. Revenue sharing does not replace NIL—we encourage fans and local businesses to keep working directly with our athletes.
